I hate these rollers. Not because they are horrible. That aren't. I'm sure some people will be very happy with them. But because they really set my expectations much higher then they delivered. I have not bought new rollers in 15 years. I have used the same set of Conaire Hot Sticks. My hair is really long now though and I wanted to buy a high end roller set with larger rollers for big, bouncy curls.
This set looks like it would have everything you need. And I loved the fact that it had the big claw clips as well as the pins to hold the curlers. The claw clips are MUCH easier to use, and you don't have to use the pins at all. The curls just did not last though. Not even when I used a curl setting spray before rolling. Also the edges are hot. And it really seems like the curlers do not all heat up to the same temp. Some were much hotter to the touch then others. That could just be my set.
People just gushed about these curlers on beauty sites. I have to assume they have never tried other types of curlers, other then a curling iron, because these just are not that special. They don't make your hair smoother or more shiny. I don't care what people tell you about ceramic or ions. When it gets right down to it, my hot sticks are much, much, much easier to use. Just one, small unit. No big, heavy unit to cart out. No clips or pins to have to put away when your done. So much faster to roll your hair. And the curls made with the hot sticks last for several days. The curls made with this unit didn't last until the end of ONE day. This is sitting on a shelf after 2 uses. The 15 year old hot sticks are back out again.
