(More customer reviews)Forget the drugstore stuff. This product is worth it! The original formula (#1 in the black box) has been my staple relaxer since introduced. The newer Rusk Str8 is also very good but is a thermal straightener and requires more work. Anticurl works for all hair types. It can be used to tame frizz from straight hair or remove tight curls. Stylists also use this to remove unwanted curly perms. If performed correctly, it does not leave hair super porous like drugstore products. Remember to keep the hair straight with a wide tooth comb throughout the process and not to leave stage 1 on too long. The other review mentions that the product leaves an odor. Most chemicals used to change hair texture will leave an odor if you do not properly neutralize. Neutralization is so important because failure to do so is what leads to damage, breakage, hair loss, etc. My stylist shampoos between the 1st and 2nd phases, while taking care to keep the hair straight with a wide tooth comb, to help ensure proper neutralization.
