(More customer reviews)I have used the Silk'n twice thus far with my second treatment being two days ago. The first time you use the machine the manufacturer sets the strength setting on level one for the first 50 pulses, up to level three for the next 200 pulses and after up to the highest setting of five. I've used the device on my chest, abdomen and some personal areas twice and have used 300 pulses. To those who have stated in other reviews that it takes a whole bulb (which supplies 750 pulses before needing replacement) to do your arms or what not I have to say that I believe they are highly exaggerating.
The best part so far is that there is no pain, which is music to the ears of those who have had professional laser treatments done. A "slight rubber band snap" is WAY understated. They should tell you that it feels like someone stabbing you with about 5 small needles repeatedly. The Silk'n on level one felt like nothing at all. On level three it felt like a short burst of slight heat. At level five it actually did feel like a rubber band snap, but a true description of that. After my first treatment I did see some hair fall out particularly on my chest.
I am going to continue my review at a later time after I have seen further results.
UPDATE 2/2/09:
I am about to use the Silk'n for my third treatment, which I have been spacing out 2 weeks from one another. I have noticed about a 40 percent reduction in hair on my chest. About a week and a half after treatment some of the hair starts to fall out, much like when receiving professional laser treatments. Overall I believe the hair is a softer texture as well, which makes shaving what is left much easier. My third treatment will be the first time I use the highest level setting of 5. I will update again later.
UPDATE 3/28/09
I am about to do my sixth treatment and I am continuing to have success with the Silk'n. It is recommended in the instruction booklet that you should do the first 3-4 treatments spaced 2 weeks apart and thereafter 3-4 weeks apart. I have been using it every 2 weeks hoping to get a little better result. Every time I do a treatment I will have hair fall out, so I know that it is effective. I have patches where hair has been removed at about a 50% reduction.
UPDATE 6/23/09
So I stopped doing my treatments just to see what hair would grow back and it all grew back. I was really disappointed, because I really wanted this to work. I then decided that I was going to buy a Tria to see how that works out. If anyone would like to read my experience with the Tria, I am going to be documenting it here: [...]
